So it was brought to my attention that there is a hell of and article out there that is an argument about whether or not to leave the lid down, or the seat up. Honestly.. I leave the seat up. I walk in i piss i walk out. When i have company, I leave the lid down. No one wants to look into my toilet unless they have to.
But why is it that women want the lid up and the seat down? I mean seriously... WHY?

Yeah but WHY? Is the major question here. I mean.. what is so hard about doing it yourself and what have you?

It's annoying always having to do it yourself. Because every time I leave the toilet I leave the seat down. I expect it to stay there. Not go back up again lol

Playing devil's advocate here (and trying to get more of a discussion here from other folks), if the seat is always down, then i always have to lift it up when i'm going for a slash. And using your logic right back at you, it's annoying always having to lift it back up myself. Because most of the time when i have to toilet, i need the seat up.

I have to agree with Xes, it does get annoying to constantly lift the seat up...
It is strange that people leave the lid down sometimes, but the only reason i could see the lid down is maybe when your leaving the house and no ones there... but when your home and everyone else is too, why just leave the lid up so it allows for easier access saving valuable time and accidents (in case of bladder issues)

Well the guy who wrote that article basically at the end of it says he doesn't lift the fucking thing up anyway so I'm guessing he's still got his girlfriend.
One guy who commented and refused to put the seat down got dumped. lol

I'm gonna be the guy that does what the hell he wants.... as long as she agrees with it. So guess what.. I leave the LID DOWN! from now on. So that the stinky smell doesn't leave the toilet and we both have to lift the lid/seat depending on what we are doing.

I always shut the lid. And then I nag my sisters when they leave it up :-)

I figure, as a guy, that it's equal work if you just stick it to where YOU need it. If it's already there, yay. If not, you burned half a calorie. Ohnoes, yer gonna die of exhaustion.

And when I have been around you do leave the seat up which I can't stand! lol But I'm too polite to say anything about it. I see the pee stains and the poop marks on the underside of the toilet lid. It's nasty. Thou I have also had the lid problem where I needed to pee so bad I rushed in and fucking hell someone left the lid and the seat down wtf! Why would anyone do that unless the toilet is out of use or something. I mean come on!!
I think the reason why most women break into a storm about it all of a sudden is because for a while women sort of put up with it in the hopes that the guy will gradually work out after he see's us put the seat down so many times. But when we finally see that the guy STILL doesn't get it! That's when the stormy comes out, lol. Thankfully if the guy is only ignorant about the toilet seat situation that's over-lookable but if his manners haven't grown in other areas then frankly he's got no hope in hell.
