Somebody Do My Laundry...

Posted by Dawn in Untagged

I meant to sit down today and write a nice long fascinating and crazy blog. I've been planning the time to do it for a few days. There's only one problem.

Yesterday I got selected to participate in the Future Farmers of America horse judging competition that the college is hosting tomorrow. So instead, I spent today getting my horse into some semblance of what a halter show horse should look like.

The problem with that is that it's March and he hasn't shed all of his winter coat yet, so I spent a long time with various brushes on him. Then clippers. And more brushes. And conditioners for mane, tail, and hoof, respectively.

Oh, and one more little thing. He's never been taught to trot with a handler on the ground, so I had to do that today too. Ever tried to teach your dog something completely alien to him in one session? Multiply that difficulty by about... oh... thirty. And instead of the dog nipping you or just going away when he gets frustrated, he's a thousand pounds and tries to

Biting off more than you can chew

I have to admit, since the release of this new website, I have gotten much busier with the radio station and I am definatly thankful for it.   It's been a nice sucess finally in a long string of evilness that has happened to us the last year here.

Before I get into the meat and potatoes of this blog, I would like to welcome a few more DJs to the fray at Eden Underground.

 1. Calderio is a former BoB Radio DJ.  It seems that BoB Radio has just disappered out of no where, and well that is kind of upsetting because they were doing an awesome job.  Well we welcome Calderio with open arms even though he appears to be bat shit crazy.   Calderio, I don't know how many times I have to say it, there are NO Zombies here.  They have all be chased out of Eve-online completely and none of them wanted to DJ here.   ;)   (Lets see who picks up that reference.)

2. Joykiller is a random guy that sent me an e-mail saying he wanted to DJ.  He is currently looking for a new MMO to play (Eve Online is

Well then.

Since I've been gone for so long I thought I'd let ya'll know just what has been taking up all of my time lately.

Financing class. No really, I have to study constantly for that class. And Creative Writing has kept me on my toes as well. Not to mention four other classes. I've been a bit stretched thin. I still am, to tell the truth, between class work and housework (which I get exhausted and don't do until it's completely destroyed, oops, bad Dawn) and my horses.

There will probably be times yet where I just go poof for a little while, but I promise you all, I will always come back, because I love the station, I love the community, and frankly a lot of times I need the outlet for frustrations.

I'll be coming up with more crackheaded things to write about here in the near future, and I'll share them all with you when they come to me, but in the mean time, just remember:

So, what has Karn been up to? Why did he disappear?

These are both great questions and I suppose a few people would like to know. So what have I been up to...? I figured I would go into my little story of how I came here.

Well, as many know I came about EUR around Christmas 2 years ago I think. I started playing Eve-Online when I was in the U.S. Navy. Sad, I know. You won't believe how many people in the service play MMOs. I started off in my early years with Ultima Online, Anarchy beta, Darksun beta, and even that one game where they ended the beta with a meteor killing everyone off. Quite fun. Don't remember the name but who cares. Of course, my friends all convinced me to play World of Warcraft because everyone did. Naturally because I'm so in tune with fitting in and giving in to peer pressure (sarcasm btw), I gave it a shot. And I liked it.

That is until I realized I picked the wrong side... Alliance. For the horde, everyone said. Arg! So, for about a year or so, I played my lil human warlock until I couldn't anymore. I had every

Still some bugs!

Okay folks,

As has been said in some other blogs here, the new website is up and it is gorgeous.  Honestly i think it looks better than all the blood from the past, and well i think this will help move us forward.

Now there are still some bugs in the site.   Right now in the Help forum, there is a suggestion box.   Find something wrong feel free to tell us to fix it and we will.  Also, DJs if you don't have access to the "Private" forums for staff, Noyes started a thread in there mentioning he doesn't have rights.   There seems to be a big that in changing to the new site, it took EVERYONE'S rights to the "private" forums away.  No you haven't been overlooked, Dante don't you go getting emo on us about it either.

I need karn to show me how to change the rights in the back end of things, so yeah, until he does so... i'm fucked.

Other wise, let us know what you think of the new site. And be sure to show lots of love to both Karn Edge and Gilgamoth sicne they had their hands in this

So the new site is up and running, hopefully all of you out there are enjoying the new look. Karn and Gilgamoth and XX have all been busting their butts on this and I think we should show them some appreciation. Especially the code monkeys Karn and Gil.

As for me, well, I've been busy. Very, very busy. I haven't even been able to tune in the way I used to. I miss the shows!

But, I'm working on getting back into the station, because I love this place and well because it's fun!

XX and I are in discussions about a couple of ideas inclding an Ask Dawn segment. That's right, an advice column from the coolest hick on the North American continent.

If that's something you'd like to see, then let me know! Send me your questions, I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

In the mean time, cruise around and check out the new site, post on the forums, show some love for the DJ's, the code monkeys (we love you guys!) and our Fearless Leader, XX!

Calderio

Hello, I am Calderio. I am a former DJ with BOB Radio. Something or another happened and the guy who ran the old station quit playing eve, went mia, and took the station to mia with him.

So now Ive signed on with the Eden Underground folks.

Last night (3/18/2008) I did my first show. It was of a decent length, a little over 3 hours. I have no idea as to when my regular show times will be. Looking at my schedule I should be available to play most nights US EST. My shows usually consist of a lot of rock and metal. I try and soften some things up here and there with some comedy. Ive been known to play whatever I feel like so it might wander off to some Euro crap or another. Its been known to happen.

My only fear, Zombies. Zombies are fucking scary, the only way to kill them is with a head shot. No vitamins, no I'm just gonna shoot you in the chest. Zombies are fucking scary. Watch yourself, when Zday comes, I wont be found. FUCK ZOMBIES.

Im out,

I-33 Here We Come

Posted by DJ Gilgamoth in Untagged

Gilgamoth

This weekend, Newbury Race course hosts Multiplay's latest I-Series, I-33. The I-Series is a LAN Gaming event, the largest in the UK with 1580 gamers expected to attend this latest incarnation.

Whilst not as big as Sweden's Dream Hack (some 10,500 gamers) it's quite an event, pulling in support from big names such as EA, Intel, AMD, THQ, Ubisoft and Activision.

Previous events have seen the qualifiers for the World Cyber Games, and Sierra giving a preview of World in Conflict.

This time, the Frag Dolls are aiming for a Guiness World Record for the "the longest continuous play of an FPS".

Aqua-PC's are even demoing extreme cooling capabilities with Liquid Nitrogen.

EUR will be there and represented by Dante and Gilgamoth, with a hope of Dante's show coming live from there on Sunday (fingers crossed).

You can come along as a spectator for £10 a day and see all the exhibitions, or you can pay £30 for the weekend and use one of the Turn Up and Play PC's provided by Packard Bell.

 See You

ZOMG WTF?

Gilgamoth

Well I got an urgent message from Xeserox today that the website wasn't working so when I got home I finally managed to take a look at the website and found it had been hacked and hijacked.

After a good couple of hours, I managed to clear out all of the crap left behind and I think we're stable now.

Take care
