So we updated the website to the newest version of Joomla and it went without a hitch. I have yet to see any kinks. Hopefully all you gamers out there are enjoying the music and your face. I've been seeing a lot of activity on the scanners lately since the release of the new website but no words or action to speak of. Is it too much work to register with another community website, do you just like listening to the music and not bother with the rest of it, or is it because you're much better than us and there can only be one highlander?

Well, along with the update to the site, I have also enabled OpenID support for logins AND you can also make comments anywhere on the site (except forums) as a guest. So let us know how we're doing or just say hi. We want to make this place even more enjoyable and something to talk about. Go ahead and give it a shot. Like a shot in the mouth.

Also, there's a whole load of fixes, suggestions and features piling up in the list at my Suggestion Box topic on the forums if you want to keep in tune with what's really happening. Right now I'm working on the new request-a-song pages and building up new avatars and ranks for the forums. So enjoy your face and uh, oh yeah... what ever you do, don't cross the streams.

So its here, the new website design and code. You'll find this setup much easier to read and a lot faster. The code is cleaner and we're even XHTML compatible for real now! I hope you guys all like the new site and enjoy yourself even more. We will be adding more as time goes on of course. If you want to see a new features appear here in the community then please let us know. We are wanting to make this place even more beautiful and fun to hang out.

• There is a Now Playing section at the top if you haven't noticed that will tell you who is on and what song is playing. Future changes to this will including show names, quick access to the current DJ's profile, and a link to that DJ's request page if they have one.
• Most user accounts have been deleted including registrations that were never completed. If you haven't logged since Oct 30th 2007, chances are that you were probably deleted. Just create a new account and you will be fine. A few special folks were kept however so if you think you might have been considered special with us then try to log in first.
  Note: The overly complicated (and sort of loved) profiling system is gone and probably will not return. Community Builder is the only profile system like it in Joomla today. We are using the forums profile system instead and more additions will come to as well.
• Forums have been pruned for 30 days. Old posts that have no recent replies were deleted. The General forum was set to 120 days however and the Help Desk was not pruned. I will be going through all the posts to search for anything that needs to be added to our F.A.Q. ("Need help?" in Main Menu) section then prune it. That Guy's Column will not be pruned either for the sake of keeping his articles together for now.
• Blogs section has been updated and the dashboard is much easier to use. It will no longer use the 'litebox' feature so much unless needed.
  Note: Embed videos (like YouTube) do not work at the moment.
• Learn about us with a brief history of EUR, Xeserox will be updating the about us section soon so its not as long and makes more sense.
• Wiki linking has been removed for now as well as other content integration tags. We will be adding these shortly, mainly the Video bot.
• No more White text on Black background! Because honestly no one needs emo underground radio and it's so much easier to read articles. This has been a huge enhancement according to all the testers.
• Forums run much smoother now and will be getting alot more features in the future including polls, better profile management, groups with team management, and much more.
  Note: New posts should marked correctly after reading now. If you see this is not true, please let us know.
• Tune in links are much more visual which was also another big enhancement... sadly.
• News feeds have been beefed up with more useful links including TechDirt and other open source sites that support the idea of innovation and freedom. They also actually work and even show the content as the previous website design did not do so. Check it out in the Shared Feeds section.
• Future additions to the site include but are in no way limited to the following: easier DJ look ups, member lists, help desk with tickets, in-site request pages, show scheduling, DJ application, and much more.

So hopefully you guys love the new site and enjoy your face while your at it. Please let us know if we're doing everything alright or okay by going to the help desk or just commenting below. Tell us if we rock your socks or just plain suck. We can take it, Xeserox is always on his knees.

Last night Karn Edge started the process of changing over to the new website.  Now while you don't see any of the changes just yet they have been done.  

Tonight will be stage 2 of the change over process.   The website will be down as Karn will be preforming database maintence to get everything in line and the way it should be.

Please be patient as we go through this process.  There are going to be a couple of bug that appear, so don't go crazy about it.   Just report them on the forums so that we can take care of them in a time fashion.  Either Karn or Gilgamoth will be able to take care of them ASAP.

Monday Night DJ, That Guy is now a Father.    His wife gave birth to a baby boy, this morning at 6:51am EDT.

I think That Guy is going to be taking some time off, though I need to actually get a hold him, instead of hoping he gets his MSN messages.
